About Me
Welcome to my personal blog. My name is Mike Welch. I am a lifelong learner, Specialist in School Psychology, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, doctoral candidate, and assistant professor in the Specialist in School Psychology Program at Louisiana State University – Shreveport. My research interests center on understanding and preventing reading failure. I also consult on implementing positive behavior supports in the home and classroom.
I have enjoyed working with children, parents, and educators in diverse settings including public schools in Louisiana, Department of Defense schools in Italy, a clinical setting in a large training hospital, and currently teaching at LSUS. I am currently pursuing a terminal degree in educational psychology through Texas A&M University in Commerce, TX.
